The culé fans were the '12th player' of FC Barcelona in the resounding victory over Espanyol in the Catalan derby (3-1). A total of 48,443 fans were present at the Estadi Olimpic Lluís Companys watching the match between the Blaugranas and the Periquitos, this being the best attendance in the League since the Catalan team plays at Montjuïc.
Barça-Bayern maintains the total attendance record
However, this Sunday's attendance is behind the 50,312 fans who attended Barça's 'thrashing' of Bayern in the Champions League (4-1). A record attendance, since it was the highest since the culés play away from the Spotify Camp Nou, surpassing the 50,309 of the match against PSG (1-4) in the second leg of the quarter-finals of the European Cup last season.
