Montjuïc is 'almost ready' to welcome Fútbol Club Barcelona

The FC Barcelona announced this Monday, through his web page, that has culminated the second phase of the works in the Olympic Stadium Lluís Companys. This enclosure fungirá like local stadium of the Barça until November of 2024, while it makes the remodeling of the Spotify Camp Nou.

The club has informed that several zones of the stadium are being subjected to conditioning to adapt them to the needs of the team, as well as to the requirements of LaLiga and the international competitions. In his communiqué, the group blaugrana stood out that areas like the rooms of hospitality, the loge, the terracings of press, the changing rooms and the terrain of game are the spaces that more have experienced positive changes.

This second phase has developed in two windows, as the agreed in a leaf of route established in the City Condal. This periplo was from 4 May to 12 May and of 11 June to 3 July. Between other things, carried out the adecuación of the sportive illumination and the networks of telecommunications, as well as the setting of the grandstands for the commentators of television.

Third and last stage

Now, already in the straight final of the restructuring of the Olympic Stadium Lluís Companys, will develop the third and last phase of remodeling, that will begin on 24 July and will finalise before the start of the season 2023/2024. Between other things, plans install the chairs in the zones VIP and adapt the systems of sportive competition, like the VAR, the cameras of follow-up and the systems of offside, in addition to the setting of the benches and the goals.

It fits to stand out that the Barcelona group initiated this project of reforms in December of 2022, in the frame of the cession of use of this enclosure agreed with the City council of Barcelona, through the company Barcelona of Municipal Services (BSM), while it works in the designated 'Espai Barça', process of reurbanización of the Camp Nou and his surroundings.
