THE BARÇA PLAYER BECOMES INDEPENDENT
A new beginning! Lamine Yamal and his family say goodbye to the Rocafonda neighborhood
Lamine Yamal and his family have made the decision to move from the Rocafonda neighbourhood, the place that was their home for so many years and where the young 17-year-old star grew up, who is now one of the best players at FC Barcelona
Lamine Yamal and his family have put an end to their time in the Rocafonda neighbourhood. From now on, they will start a new life in Sant Joan Despí, near the Joan Gamper sports city, where the player spends most of his time. In fact, the 17-year-old footballer has been living alone since this summer, in an apartment very close to the FC Barcelona training site.
The last few months have been very good for Lamine on a sporting level. He went from being a La Masia youth player to becoming the best player in the attack of the culé team, making him an essential player in Hansi Flick's team and in the Spanish national team, with which he won Euro 2024 in July. His good performance earned him his first nomination for the Ballon d'Or, where he will compete for the main award, as well as the Kopa Trophy that rewards the best footballer under 21 years of age.
Lamine and his family leave Rocafonda
Although everything is going great for the winger on the pitch, he has recently gone through a difficult time. On August 14, his father, Mounir Nasraoui, was stabbed in the neighborhood where they lived. Mounir had been in a fight with several men and hours later, the unfortunate event occurred that led him to spend a few days in the hospital, because he suffered two stab wounds in the stomach and one in the side. Fortunately, the knives did not touch vital organs, so everything remained a bitter episode in the family's life.
However, this situation would have caused the family's desire to move to a place closer to the Barcelona training center. In this way, the footballer leaves the La Masia facilities, where he has been living in recent years to have his own space under the supervision of his parents, taking into account that he is still a minor. Lamine has always been proud of the neighborhood where he grew up, but it's time to start a new life somewhere else.
