Joan Laporta will soon present his plan to find new investors for Barça Vision, the incomplete 'lever' that has prevented the club from cleaning up its finances this year

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Joan Laporta will present the figures for the 2023/24 financial year and the official budget for 2024/25 at the general assembly next Saturday, October 19. There, the president will also reveal the details of the new negotiations for the resale of Barça Vision, an operation that prevented the club from balancing its accounts this summer to return to the 1/1 rule and sign normally.

In principle, FC Barcelona must recover 135 million euros derived from non-payments by Libero Football. The priority is to deposit, at least, the €40M that the investment fund had to pay during the last season before the end of the year. For this reason, the Barça board hopes to find at least two new investors to cover these amounts because, in addition to the urgencies regarding 'Fair Play', it is also key to prevent the platform with which the club will integrate everything related to Web3 , NFT's and Metaverse continue to depreciate.

In 2023, Barça Vision was valued at 408 million euros. However, the fiasco of the agreement with Libero caused this price to fall by approximately 140 'kilos', since the German company also did not comply with the payments set for the 2022/23 season. Libero only made a payment of €20M and then ended up suing Barça in mid-2024 for breaching the initial agreement between the parties. Vestigia and Socios.com also have a stake in this Barça asset, although without executive operation due to unfulfilled payments.

The options that Laporta uses to 'save' the sale of Barça Vision

At the moment, Laporta has only guaranteed to earn 25 million euros this year, a figure that Aramark will pay. The American company will be responsible for the Spotify Camp Nou catering services for the next 25 years and would have a smaller percentage (6.5%) of Barça Vision, although the board, for now, ensures that the food service provider does not have participation in this active culé.

Furthermore, according to 'Mundo Deportivo', the board could convince other Catalan sponsors to acquire percentages of the platform. This would allow the club to secure extraordinary income for the 2024/25 financial year, sufficient to reach next summer without signing problems. Barça hopes to resolve this 'lever' before the end of the year and, together with the new contract with Nike, balance accounts to resolve pending registrations and renewals for the winter market.
