The remodeling works of the Spotify Camp Nou continue to advance at a good pace thanks to the extension of work shifts 24 hours a day, through the approval of the Barcelona City Council. This Thursday, President Joan Laporta toured the Estadi together with the CEO of the company in charge of the work, Limak Construction, Ebru Özdemir, in a visit that had special interest in verifying the status of the VIP seats of the culé temple.

The new blue-and-red financial auditor, Crowe Auditores, asked the club to deliver before June 30 the 475 seats acquired by New Era Visionary Group (United Arab Emirates, €70M for 350 seats) and Fortia Advisor Limited (Qatar, €30M for 125 seats) to account for the 100 million euros derived from this operation in the 2024-25 financial year. Well, the works show significant progress two and a half months before the deadline, with a good part of the VIP rings of the Estadi built.

In that sense, a good part of the so-called Personal Seat License (PSL) have been installed, a business model that allows investors to acquire a VIP seat to market them or make use of them for a maximum period of 30 years. The first and second tiers already have most of the seats installed, while the foundations of the third amphitheater and the new press area of the Camp Nou are already standing.

Similarly, the playing rectangle of the Estadi looks almost ready to start the installation of the new turf, work that will be carried out between the last two weeks of April and the first week of May. The land remains completely clear, ready to place a state-of-the-art turf that will have a cooling, heating, ventilation and drainage system available in very few stadiums in the world.

According to the president of Limak, Ebru Özdemir, currently 3,300 operators from 27 different countries are working 24 hours a day to have the Camp Nou ready for the start of the 2025-26 season, with an initial capacity of 65,000 seats. The Espai Barça project must be fully completed in the summer of 2026, after the installation of the roof. In total, the Estadi will have a capacity for 104,600 spectators.
