The FC Barcelona first team squad already has many numbers defined for the 2024/25 season. However, two questions still need to be resolved before the final list is known. Closing the chapter on signings and deregistrations and confirming the registration of the players.
The 'Fair Play' of La Liga continues to take its toll on the Barça club, which cannot complete the registration of the contracts of some players and prevents the final assignment of some squad numbers. Lamine Yamal will wear the number ’19’
Lamine Yamal will wear the number '19' on his shirt from the 2024/25 season. It should be remembered that as a first-team player, the Rocafonda striker had to change his number '27', which he used during the 2023/24 season, because the regulations of the Royal Spanish Football Federation establish that players registered as first-team players must have a number between 1 and 25.
And, the choice of the new number was not the one that had been speculated, since the Spanish-Moroccan will not wear the 'heavy' Barcelona '10' shirt, but Lamine Yamal opted for the number '19', an equally historic number that was once used by Leo Messi (05/06 - 07/08) before wearing the '10'.

For another season, no one will wear one of the most legendary numbers of the culés and of football in general, the number '10' has once again become free, unassigned. A historic number at Barça that has been worn by players such as Messi, Rivaldo and Ronaldinho. Finally it will not have an owner, at least for now.
The numbers of Barça's new signings
In a transfer market where only two players have arrived (Pau Víctor and Dani Olmo) and, so far, only two others have left (Oriol Romeu and Sergi Roberto), the change of numbers has been minimal. In fact, the two new additions will wear their numbers. Dani Olmo has inherited Sergi Roberto's number 20, while Pau Víctor will wear Oriol Romeu's number 18.
On the other hand, in the case of Eric García who returns from a loan, there were no surprises, as he will continue with the '24' that he has used since the beginning of his time as a culé in the 2021/22 season. And two players from the reserve team will now have a number with the first team. Álex Valle will wear the '12', and Pablo Torre will wear the '14' that João Félix previously wore.

In this case, a total of 15 players in the first team squad will keep the number they wore last season. As has been the case since 2014, Marc-André ter Stegen will wear the '1' on his back. Alejandro Balde will wear the '3', and another number that will keep its owner intact is the '4', worn by Ronald Araújo since 2020. Íñigo Martínez will continue to wear the '5' as he did last season.
For his part, the '6' remains behind Gavi, now that he has overcome his injury. Ferran Torres will continue to wear the '7' and Pedri the '8'. Robert Lewandowski will do the same with the '9' and Raphinha with the '11'.
From there we jump to Iñaki Peña's '13', Andreas Christensen will continue to wear '15', while Fermín López continues with '16' and Frenkie De Jong, Gündogan and Koundé, continue with the numbers '21', '22' and '23' respectively.
The Barça players who have changed their number
On the other hand, two players from the first team squad have changed the number they wore last season. In the case of Pau Cubarsí, who in his brief but successful experience in the top flight had worn number 33, being officially a first team player for this season, he had to change his number due to the regulations of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). On this occasion, the young defender has been assigned the number '2', usually associated with right-backs and which was worn by João Cancelo last season.
The same thing has happened with Lamine Yamal, the new star of Barça had to change his number '27', which he used during the 2023/24 season, for a new one between 1 and 25. The winger from Rocafonda will wear the number '19' on his back, a number with a lot of history.
Barça players without numbers
Now it only remains to be determined what numbers Ansu Fati, Clément Lenglet and Vitor Roque will wear, whose continuity in the team for the 24/25 season is not so clear and they could be removed. At the moment they have not been assigned a number.
Barça numbers that are available
Barça has some numbers that don't have a clear 'owner'. At the moment, the only numbers that are free are '10', '17' and '25'.
Numbers of the players who have left the team
In the section of losses, there are four players who have left their numbers to other teammates. Starting with the number '2' of Joao Cancelo and the number '14' of Joao Félix, who have returned to Manchester City and Atlético after finishing their loans. The number '18' of Oriol Romeu, loaned to Girona, and the number '20' of Sergi Roberto, who finished his contract with the Blaugrana team.
