Calendar of FC Barcelona

Great news continues to arrive for FC Barcelona. After a memorable sports day in which the team officially secured their second place ranking in the league phase for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League by drawing 2-2 against Atalanta, now the team has taken a crucial step in their 'renewal operation'.

Following recent statements from the sports director of FC Barcelona, Deco, the movement regarding renewals is progressing well. Following the official contract extensions of Ronald Araujo and Gerard Martín, the Barcelona side has secured the contract extension of one of their best players: Pedri González. In the 2024-25 season, freed from injuries, the '8' has shown his best version on the field.

The Canary player, whose contract with Barcelona was set to expire on June 30, 2026, has sealed an extension that will keep him linked to the Barcelona team for five more years, until 2030. The agreement was signed at the club's offices, which he visited after the recovery training session carried out on Thursday morning, accompanied by his parents and his brother Fernando.

Present at the signing were the club's president, Joan Laporta, as well as other board members, including the first vice president, Rafa Yuste, and the club's sports director, Deco.

FC Barcelona seals the continuity of a key player in their 'backbone'

With this renewal, Barcelona guarantees the continuity of Pedri González, whose apparent release clause remains at €1000. Despite being 22 years old, the former UD Las Palmas player has shown his importance for the Barcelona team since joining in 2020, accumulating 175 games played, 24 goals, and 17 assists under the guidance of various coaches such as Ronald Koeman (20/21 and 21/22), Xavi Hernández (21/22, 22/23, and 23/24), and Hansi Flick (24/25).

As a player of Barcelona, the Tenerife-born player has won four titles: a Copa del Rey (2020-21), a La Liga (2022-23), and two Spanish Super Cups (2022-23 and 2024-25). A significant number of achievements for Pedri González, with a brilliant present and a promising future, provided that injuries do not hinder him.
