The FC Barcelona has used its various social media platforms to clarify an issue related to the return to the Spotify Camp Nou, an issue that has sparked significant debate. It is worth remembering that initially it was planned that the return to the iconic stadium would take place in December 2024, with limited capacity. However, due to various factors such as complications in the works, it seems that the reopening of the mythical Azulgrana stronghold will be postponed until next year.
Now, Barcelona has confirmed that the team will continue to play at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium at least until the end of the initial phase of the UEFA Champions League, that is, until the end of January. The reason behind this decision, as explained by the club, is due to UEFA regulations that prohibit changing stadiums during this phase of the Champions League, in addition to the logistical difficulties and extra costs involved in maintaining two large capacity facilities operational at the same time.
With this in mind, Barcelona has already planned that the matches the Catalan team plays at home in early 2025, such as the match on January 26 against Valencia CF, on the 29th against Atalanta (UEFA Champions League), and on February 2 against Deportivo Alavés, will take place at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium. Likewise, it is speculated, as the team has not confirmed in its statement, that Barça could be returning to the Spotify Camp Nou on February 16 for the home game against Rayo Vallecano or, alternatively, for a hypothetical Champions League 'playoff'.
Barcelona also clarified the issue of passes for the Olympic Stadium and the Spotify Camp Nou
In another vein, Barcelona has wanted to make it clear that this change of plans will affect the duration of the passes both for the Olympic Stadium and for the return to the Spotify Camp Nou. In this regard, it has informed its partners, as was indicated during the pass reservation process, that the price will be adjusted at the time of purchase in both cases. Regarding a hypothetical additional home match, the playoff match for qualification for the Champions League round of 16, this would be included in the Spotify Camp Nou Pass.
Furthermore, the FC Barcelona offers the option to partners who wish to extend the validity of the pass for the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium 24/25 until the actual return date to the Spotify Camp Nou, through a web form, maintaining the same selected zone at the beginning of the season. The price of this extension will be applied at the time of confirmation and will be proportional to the additional matches.
At the same time, the duration of the Spotify Camp Nou 24/25 Pass will be postponed until the actual return date to the iconic Culé stronghold. In that case, the proportional cost corresponding to the matches that cannot be held there will be deducted from the total amount indicated.
