FC Barcelona has officially announced its collaboration with Coldplay ahead of the Clásico against Real Madrid on October 26, now revealing the iconic design that it will wear on its shirt for this match

The FC Barcelona has utilized its various social media platforms to finally present the design of the jersey that will be worn in the Clásico, scheduled for October 26th at the Santiago Bernabéu, corresponding to matchday 11 of LaLiga EA Sports 2024-25. It is important to remember that it had been previously mentioned that, as a tradition for the past two seasons, for the clash between the culés and the merengues in the local competition, Barça replaces the logo of its usual sponsor, Spotify, with that of a singer or band in collaboration with the aforementioned digital audio and video streaming platform.

On this occasion, the selected band has been one of the most influential pop rock groups worldwide, the British band Coldplay. Consequently, the blaugrana team will have as a sponsor the emblem representing the band's tenth album, titled 'Moon Music', which was released on October 4th.

In relation to this context, the jersey design will be based on an innovative theme inspired by the mentioned album. The logo that will adorn the blaugrana jersey will be composed of moons, specifically eight moons in different phases, arranged in such a way that they create the illusion of being able to read the name of the iconic London band. This detail on the culé attire, highlighted in gold, like the other elements of the jersey's sponsors and following the line of the Spotify emblem.

Barcelona will release limited units of this exclusive collaboration with Coldplay

This jersey, which falls under the category of exclusive editions just like previous collaborations of FC Barcelona with artists such as Drake, Rosalía, Karol G, and other bands like Rolling Stones, will be available to the public starting from Friday, the 18th, at Barça Stores and on the club's e-commerce platform. It is important to note that this special edition of jerseys will consist of 1899 'match' quality units with the Coldplay logo.

Furthermore, there is an even more exclusive version, of which only 22 units will be produced, also 'match' quality, but with a fluorescent effect on the logo and the signature of the starting players who will participate in the match, both in the Clásico and in LaLiga EA Sports and in the F League. It should be mentioned that not only the men's team will wear this exclusive jersey, but the women's team will also sport it in their match against Eibar on November 2nd.

In addition, FC Barcelona will not only commercialize these jerseys in collaboration with Spotify and Coldplay, but will also offer all culés a 'lifestyle' clothing line that will include t-shirts, hoodies, and scarves. All this merchandise will combine elements from the graphic design of the 'Moon Music' album and the corporate image of Barça and the digital audio and video streaming platform. Additionally, Spotify, Coldplay, and FC Barcelona will allocate part of the profits from these collections to a joint project with the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR/ACNUR) and the FC Barcelona Foundation.

Coldplay, the London-based band, expressed their satisfaction at being able to participate in this exclusive collaboration with FC Barcelona, with whom they seem to enjoy an exceptional relationship. "It is an honor that Spotify has chosen to include our 'Moon Music' design on the FC Barcelona jersey. We have had a special relationship with the city and the Club for many years. We are also proud to support UNHCR/ACNUR in their life-saving work to protect refugees and displaced people around the world. Heartfelt thanks to Spotify and FC Barcelona for making this possible," stated the London-based band.

On the other hand, from FC Barcelona, Juli Guiu, vice president of marketing at the Club, expressed the satisfaction of the blue and maroon institution for establishing this collaboration with an internationally renowned band like Coldplay, following in the band's footsteps in expressing their good feelings about this collaboration. "We are delighted that, thanks to our partnership with Spotify, Coldplay appears on the FC Barcelona jersey for the Clásico. The band and the Club share a mutual love that goes back many years, from the band's visit to the training sessions, to Barça players who have seen Coldplay live in Barcelona over the years, to the group's music becoming the soundtrack of some of the Club's best moments," concluded the Club's directive.
