Good news for FC Barcelona. Although recently three players have entered their infirmary: Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and Ansu Fati, they have also been receiving encouraging news about one of the players who had suffered an injury. His recovery is progressing as planned by the club, which should pave the way for his return.
The player in question is Ferran Torres, who got injured on October 6th in the match of the ninth round of LaLiga EA Sports against Deportivo Alavés (0-3). The 'Shark', who was playing his fifth match as a starter this 2024-25 season, lasted only six minutes on the field before feeling discomfort that forced him to be replaced by Eric García, pending the severity of his injury.
After the corresponding medical studies were carried out, it was determined that Ferran Torres had suffered a muscular injury in the biceps femoris of the right thigh, with an estimated recovery time of seven to eight weeks. With this premise, it was expected that the Valencian would miss approximately two months of competition, which would amount to about eight matches with Barcelona (he has missed six), aiming for his return in early December.
Ferran Torres progressing favorably in his recovery process
Now, after 56 days have passed since Ferran Torres' injury was announced, the Barcelona has shared some encouraging images in which the former Manchester City player can be seen working intensely on one of the fields at the Joan Gamper Sports City, performing exercises on the field, including some with the ball. Therefore, it would not be surprising if the '7' soon integrates into training with the group.
Moreover, various sources suggest that Ferran Torres could expedite his return compared to the initial expectations. He could be eligible to return either after the FIFA date, for the match against Celta de Vigo on November 23, or for the game against Stade Brestois on the 26th.
This would be encouraging news for Barcelona, as the return of Ferran Torres would be crucial for an offensive line that has lost two players who usually play on the wings, like Ansu Fati and Lamine Yamal. The team needs players who can perform in that area, something that the Valencian can do both on the right and left sides.
