At the presentation of his book 'Pedri and the Legend of the Golden Boots', Pedri González shared his thoughts on a potential Champions League final against Madrid and chose between the Ballon d'Or and the treble
Last Monday, March 24, Pedri González, in collaboration with Plátano de Canarias, presented the book 'Pedri and the Legend of the Golden Boots', a work aimed at children to promote healthy eating habits. The Canary Islander is the face of this educational initiative and the protagonist of a story aimed at encouraging children to eat fruit and healthy foods for their growth.
During the event, the footballer was asked about various current topics regarding FC Barcelona and the national team. The midfielder referred to his great personal moment, stating that "this is one of the moments I enjoy the most, with the confidence I have and continuity. My teammates make it very easy for me, I just have to keep enjoying and winning".
Regarding the match against Osasuna next Thursday, the culé '8' acknowledged that "the only thing left is to recover to play on Thursday, I was really looking forward to presenting the book for the younger ones. The joy from yesterday with the national team makes everything recover better for Thursday".
"It’s complicated to recover in less than 72 hours, there are more and more matches, the schedule is tight and we have to find dates. It’s a difficult solution, you lose intensity in the level of play, although you have to accept it and hope for the best", he added.
A possible Champions League final between Barça and Madrid
When asked about the possibility of playing the Champions League final against Real Madrid, Pedri stated that "I would sign for a Barça-Madrid final in Munich. There would be a sign that we reached the final. You shouldn't be afraid of anyone. All fans would love it. As I said, if we are in the final, that’s what matters".

If the Catalans reach the decisive match of the Champions League, the chances of winning the treble and for González would increase significantly. However, the footballer has a clear preference: "I prefer to win the treble over the Ballon d'Or, if it comes, let it be with collective titles. Being there is what you want, but I prefer to win all the titles".
However, the player exercised caution by adding that "there are many matches left, now everything is at stake, you can lose three matches and be out. The most beautiful matches are left, which are fun to play and why not dream of this treble?".
Pedri's great form
Pedri has established himself as the best midfielder in the world this season, leaving behind the physical problems that previously hindered him. In this regard, the player revealed that "although it may seem strange, I prefer to play than to stop, if I stop for a week I feel like my body is less rested, I feel more comfortable with continuity, it’s more complicated to recover if I stop".

Regarding his position on the field, the Tegueste native confessed that "I prefer to play as an eight, receiving and touching the ball more, but I respect the coach's decisions because he knows what he’s doing".
Finally, González concluded his appearance by referring to the possible renewal of Szczesny. "I would like him to stay, I like him a lot, he is very funny, he doesn’t buckle under pressure at any moment. He has had a spectacular level, I always tell him he is very great and it’s complicated to score a goal against him. I have fun with him both on and off the field", he concluded.
