Pedri shines at Mestalla! Assist and recital to take Barça to Copa semifinals

Another night, another exhibition from Pedri González. The blue and garnet '8' is the beacon of an FC Barcelona that is cruising at full speed in 2025, remaining unbeaten in the 10 matches played so far (8 wins and 2 draws) and making key passes towards their main objectives of the season, such as qualifying for the round of 16 in the Champions League and the semifinals of the Copa del Rey.

To reach this last milestone, the Catalans visited Mestalla and overwhelmed a Valencia side that was never in the match, being completely crushed by the overwhelming superiority of the culés. The Catalan victory was sealed by Ferran Torres, who celebrated his first 'hat-trick' of the season, but it was 'cooked' at the feet of the Tenerife midfielder, master and lord of the blaugrana midfield.

However, the course of the match could have been very different for the Canary Islander, who suffered a harsh tackle from Hugo Guillamón that should have been sanctioned with a red card but, inexplicably, ended up being nothing. The player returned to the game after a few minutes on the ground and subsequently took control of the match, managing the tempo and directing every attack of the Barça as if it were an orchestra.

In this way, he achieved his fifth assist of the season. The player controlled the ball in midfield and sent a masterful pass, only at the level of a star of his caliber, to Fermín López so that the Andalusian was one-on-one with the goalkeeper and scored the third goal of the night. 

Pedri finished the match with 60 completed passes out of 65 attempted (92%) and with 9 duels won out of 10 contested, thus demonstrating his influence in both areas of the game. The player was substituted by Marc Casadó in the second half and the culé supporters present at Mestalla chanted his name, in a clear show of appreciation from the fans for the best midfielder in the world.
