Calendar of FC Barcelona

The ex president of the Barcelona, Josep María Bartomeu, has not wanted to give them statements to the authorities afterwards to be detained by the Mossos d'Esquadra by his presumptive implication in the "Barçagate". The same have done the rest of the civil servants and ex directors of the Barcelona that they were detained.

Like this they gave it to know unofficial sources quoted by Culemanía. The same indicated that neither Bartomeu, neither gave statements Jaume Masferrer (ex adviser of Bartomeu), Òscar Grau (general director of the Barcelona) neither Román Gómez (boss of the juridical services of the Barcelona club). All they had the opportunity to give him a formal statement to the Mossos d'Esquadra to the 18:30 of this Monday, but all limited to save silence.

This did it when receiving to his right to not giving statements, which is protected by the Penal Code and the Law of Enjuiciamiento Criminal. For the moment they are still in police dependencies and estaá for seeing if they free them or keep them detained. Legally they can be arrested persons until 72 hours, but does not seem a case to arrive to these extremes.

Some legal experts consulted, explained that the most normal, in a case like east, would be that the arrested persons return to his houses. However, this decision would correspond him, finally, to the Mossos d'Esquadra. The same sources described as little common the one who to these detained to somebody without court order. They add that if the judge to the one who assign him the case does not have problems in this regard " sobreentiende that it accepts it".

As it has informed the newspaper Sport, the case against the four arrested persons will be referred to the judicial authorities this Tuesday. By what still would be missing for seeing that it offers them the process that could initiate in his against.

The case of the "Barçagate"

The case knew for the first time on 17 February of the 2020, when in the program Què t'hi Jugues to BE Catalonia, revealed that the Barcelona, when Bartomeu was the president, would have hired to the company I3Ventures. The aim was to manufacture false profiles and use them for a campaign of desprestigio against some figures of the surroundings of the club, including to players.

For this, Bartomeu and his directive, supposedly used, according to the report, a mount of one million euros, delivered in five agreements of less than 200.000 euros. This would have done it to evade the internal controls of the entity. Days afterwards, the Barcelona desvincula of I3Ventures and announces an investigation through a company auditor. In the month of April, renounced to his charges in the Barcelona Emili Rousaud, Jordi Calsamiglia, Sílvio Elías, Enrique Tombas, Maria Teixidor.

Around the middle of the past year, Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC), company auditor hired by Bartomeu to clear the situation three months before, published a report in which they concluded that the club did not make defamations. They add that neither there was corruption neither sobreprecios in the deals between I3Ventures and the Barcelona, but revealed possible incumplimientos of the internal protocols of the entity.
