Robert Lewandowski had an interesting conversation with his compatriot, and also forward of FC Barcelona, Ewa Pajor for 'Barça One'. The Pole reflected on his beginnings in the Catalan city, but also took the opportunity to throw a 'poisonous dart' at the referees of LaLiga and reveal his surprising goal with the first team for this season.

"I clearly remember the first day I stepped into the locker room, when I debuted at Camp Nou, when I put on the Barça jersey for the first time... I felt a great emotion. I didn't expect to feel that at my age, but I thought I had taken a step forward in my career and that I was in the place I wanted to be", commented the culé '9', who is in his third season at Spotify Camp Nou.

'Lewy' later revealed that he had different expectations about the style of play practiced in LaLiga. "When I arrived in Barcelona, I expected to find a more technical league, but after a few matchdays, even after a few months, I realized that LaLiga now, compared to a few years ago, is not the same. Now there are also many teams that play very defensively, that try to commit fouls, to annoy... and that offensive style of play has disappeared a bit compared to before", he stated.

"Sometimes the referees allow play not so much in a hard way, but in a dirtier way"

In that sense, the forward assured that the referees have their share of blame in this change, leaving a devastating message. "I understand that teams try to obstruct us in some way, but sometimes the referees also allow it. They always tell us that there are limits, but they use them in a curious way, you never quite understand where that limit is. I think they should promote more offensive football. Sometimes the referees allow play not so much in a hard way, but in a dirtier way", he asserted.

Lewandowski's surprising goal for this season

Lewandowski and Pajor are the top scorers in their respective leagues. The player, who has celebrated 17 goals this season, stated that "for me, the most important thing is that the team functions well. I wanted to come to this club, adapt quickly, and feel good. Regarding the goals I score, I believe it is not just my merit, but of the whole team", while the footballer valued the role of the forward in the team.

"There is no doubt that our position on the field is key, because you have to anticipate and know where the ball might fall. When we have the opportunity to score, it’s great, because then you just have to focus on how to finish it. There are matches with few situations and you have to solve it somehow, whether it's fighting with defenders or pushing the ball to get it into the net", he stated.

Finally, regarding Barça's goals for this season, 'Lewy' maintained that "we always want to win everything. It’s hard to say that before each match, especially in the Champions League, where what we want is to advance to the next round, but it’s always better to focus on the next opponent. My goal, as always, is to win titles", surprising when revealing that "I hope that this year we can win the Copa del Rey, because I have not won it yet. The Champions League is always a dream, it would be something very special to win it with this club".
