Sergio Busquets chooses his successor at Barcelona and applauds the work of Hansi Flick

Marc Casadó has been one of the great revelations of FC Barcelona in the 2024/25 season. The player from Sant Pere de Vilamajor has earned himself a starting place in the team managed by Hansi Flick through hard work and notable performances, which is why Sergio Busquets was full of praise for the man who many consider to be the future successor to the now Inter Miami midfielder.

"He has surprised us a lot. We already knew he was very good because I knew him from training and from my last year at Barça," began 'Busi'. In that sense, he added: "He is playing at a superlative, spectacular level, moving the team and also giving assists."

In addition, the legend of Barça and the Spanish National Team applauded the work of Hansi Flick for the style of play that he has implemented. "He's playing very attractively and very quickly. This Barcelona has something different," explained the 36-year-old, who was unable to prevent Inter Miami's elimination from the MLS Cup due to a muscle problem.

"It's clear that Busquets is the player I've looked up to the most in order to try to do things the way he did, because I think he's the best player in history in that position. The player from Sant Pere de Vilamajor has already provided 5 assists in 15 games (1,133 minutes) this season in all competitions. Despite the return of Frenkie de Jong, Casadó has maintained his starting position and is already one of the untouchables in Hansi Flick's system. At the moment, he has only been a substitute in four league games and only in a couple of them was he left out.

On his style of play, the Barça '17' explained that it is one of the positions that, perhaps, attracts less attention, although it is of great importance "so that the entire team can play well.
