Good news for FC Barcelona. The club has used its various social networks to announce the return of three of its internationals: Lamine Yamal, Pedri González and Ferran Torres. After a three-week vacation period following the European Championship, which ended on July 14, the players presented themselves at the Ciudad Deportiva Joan Gamper to officially undergo the corresponding medical tests. This return coincided, as previously mentioned, with the final stage of the 2024/25 pre-season tour of the United States.
Two of these three players, Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres, are expected to join Barcelona's training sessions as of Wednesday, August 7. On this day, the azulgrana squad will arrive in Barcelona after playing the last match of the Soccer Champions Tour in the early hours of Wednesday (1:30 am / 7:30 pm local time) at the M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, against AC Milan.
It should be remembered that the Catalan team has one more match left in this preseason, which will take place on August 12 against AS Monaco in the Joan Gamper Trophy. For this match, it is expected that these players, as well as most of the first team, will be available, as a prelude to the start of LaLiga EA Sports next Saturday, August 17 against Valencia CF at Mestalla at 9:30 pm.
Pedri will not yet be able to assimilate to FC Barcelona's dynamics
In relation to Pedri González, despite having been presented at the Ciudad Deportiva this Monday, he will not yet be able to fully integrate into the training sessions of the Barcelona squad, as he will continue his recovery process. It should be recalled that the player from Tegueste suffered a grade II sprain in his left knee during the quarterfinals of the European Championship, after receiving a hard tackle by Toni Kroos. Given this, his recovery time is estimated to be between six and eight weeks. Therefore, he could be in 'play' again from the second day of LaLiga.
In addition to the '8', the German coach will not be able to count on Pablo Gavi (complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee and an associated injury in the lateral meniscus), Frenkie de Jong (severe grade II sprain in his right ankle), Ronald Araújo (injury in the hamstring of the right thigh) and Ansu Fati (injury in the sole of the right foot). In addition, Fermín López, Pau Cubarsí and Eric García are currently training with Santi Denia's 'La Rojita' in Paris for the final phase of the men's soccer tournament of the Olympic Games.
