The FC Barcelona is once again facing a major challenge regarding the recovery of one of its young players after suffering a serious injury. This time, the victim has been Marc Bernal, who after a brief but interesting breakthrough in the first team, suffered a physical setback in the match between the Barcelona team and Rayo Vallecano. Subsequently, it was diagnosed as a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the left knee and an associated injury in the external meniscus. The recovery from this unfortunate setback is estimated to take between 10 and 12 months.

Pablo Gavi - complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee

Now, Bernal's injury is just one of the several recent cases of physical problems that the Catalan team has faced, especially with its young stars. Before him, the most serious had been that of Pablo Gavi, who has been injured since November 19, 2023, after suffering a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament of the right knee and an associated injury in the lateral meniscus during the match between Spain and Georgia. This setback kept him out of action for much of the 2023/24 season and has prevented his participation at the start of the 2024/25 campaign. So far, he has missed a total of 41 games. He is expected to return in October.

Alejandro Balde - detachment in the biceps femoris tendon of the right leg

Another case to consider is that of Alejandro Balde. The Barcelona left-back suffered a detachment in the biceps femoris tendon of the right leg, an incident that occurred on January 25th in the 'clash' between the Catalan team and Athletic Club in the Copa del Rey. This forced him to undergo surgery and miss approximately 22 matches in that 2023/24 season. Fortunately, for the 2024/25 season, the Spanish-Dominican is now fully physically recovered, although it is important to closely monitor his condition, as he has experienced several physical problems, including five other injuries of different kinds (ankle, thigh, and back).

Pedri González - injury in the quadriceps of the left thigh

An extremely extensive additional record is that of Pedri González, a 'magician' who has been prone to injuries since joining Barcelona in the 2020/21 season. At this point, the body part that has undoubtedly been most affected for the Tegueste player is the thighs, where he has experienced no less than seven physical setbacks of various natures. Perhaps the most serious of all was the one he suffered on September 29, 2021 during the Champions League match between SL Benfica and the Barcelona team (injury in the quadriceps of the left thigh), which kept him out of action for at least three months.

Furthermore, the '8' of Barça has suffered no less than 10 injuries throughout his career as a Culé. In addition to the mentioned problems with his thighs, he has also faced various ailments in the knee and ankle. These injuries have resulted in his absence in a total of 64 matches as a Barcelona player.

Ansu Fati - injury to the internal meniscus of the left knee

Lastly, one of the most remembered cases by the fans is that of Ansu Fati. The Bissau player impressed everyone with his spectacular football, but an injury in the 2020/21 season, specifically on November 8, 2020 against Real Betis, tearing the internal meniscus of the left knee, changed the course of his football career. He returned 305 days later, but since then the '10' has not been the same and has struggled with physical fitness.

Since then, the former Brighton player has suffered no less than seven injuries in various parts of his body (knee, thigh, calves), accumulating more than 240 days of inactivity. Currently, he has been unable to return to action with the Barcelona team due to a setback in the sole of his right foot.
