The FC Barcelona coach must make a decision. The days go by quickly and the market closes, which means that many transactions are accelerated in this period. Therefore, Hansi Flick has to define the role that certain players will have in his team, to decide whether to keep them in the squad or put them on the exit list.

One of the last unknowns is Pablo Torre. The 21-year-old Cantabrian midfielder had a great performance in the preseason under the orders of Flick, who seemed to advocate his continuity. The former Racing player scored a goal against Manchester City, in addition to being a starter against Real Madrid, which led him to earn the approval of the board.

The German coach wants a deep squad due to the large number of competitions in the 2024/25 campaign and the high level that these demand force him to have several players to count on. However, in the first LaLiga match against Valencia, Torre did not play a single minute, despite the fact that Barça did not have too many players to fill that position after the losses of Dani Olmo and Ilkay Gündogan.

What will happen to Torre?

Right now, what could ensure his continuity at the club is, precisely, the possible departure of Gündogan. The German is close to returning to Manchester City and would not only free up salary space, but a place in Flick's squad. Torre could enter there, although Fermín López has already joined training and Dani Olmo's registration is pending.

Let's remember that Pablo returned to Barcelona this summer after an unproductive loan to Girona where he played a total of 29 games (802 minutes) in which he scored one goal and two assists. Seeing himself without a place in Míchel's squad and now in the German coach's, the player will have to decide whether to stay or go to another club that allows him to continue growing as a footballer. However, the board is clear that he will not leave unless a good offer is received for him in the coming weeks. They want to receive around 6 million euros for his services and, at the moment, there are no formal proposals, so everything will be decided in the coming days.
