If there is an undeniable fact in this 2024-25 season for FC Barcelona, it is that it is proving to be a true offensive powerhouse, unlike anything seen in a long time. The Blaugrana team has, to date, accumulated a total of 55 goals between the 12 rounds of LaLiga EA Sports and the four of the UEFA Champions League, resulting in a staggering goal average of 3.4 goals per game.
Although the scorers for FC Barcelona have been quite diverse this season, with up to 11 different scorers, the weight of the attacking play largely falls on two key names: Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, the two leading scorers of the Barcelona team so far in the 2024-25 season.
Lewandowski and Raphinha are not just Barcelona's top scorers
This assertion is backed by statistics. So far, Lewandowski and Raphinha have totaled 31 goals (19 for 'Lewy' and 12 for 'Rapha'), representing 56.3% of all goals scored by Barcelona to date. This has also allowed them to lead the top scorers chart in LaLiga EA Sports, where the '9' tops the table with 14 goals, followed by the '11' with seven, as well as in the UEFA Champions League, where the Warsaw native also leads the goalscoring list with five goals, the same number as the Porto Alegre player.
Will this be the best goal-scoring season for Lewandowski and Raphinha at Barcelona?
Furthermore, this 2024-25 season is shaping up to be the best in terms of goals for both players. In fact, for Raphinha, it already is, as the Brazilian has scored 12 goals, surpassing his numbers from his first two seasons as a Culé after playing 16 games (one in 2022-23 and two in 2023-24). Also, by accumulating that number of goals, he has surpassed his personal record of goals in a single period with the Blaugrana shirt, as in his first two seasons at Barcelona, he scored 10 goals in each, in 50 and 37 matches, respectively.
As for Lewandowski, the Polish striker, known for his impressive and proven goal-scoring ability, is also improving his numbers from previous seasons as a Barcelona player, at least in terms of the first 16 matches played. So far, in the 2022-23 season, the Warsaw native had scored a total of 15 goals (ending with 36 goals in 46 matches) and in the 2023-24 season, he had scored eight goals (finishing with 26 goals in 49 games). With the 19 goals he currently has, if injuries stay away, he could easily surpass his previous records.
