This season, FC Barcelona is showing signs of losing the identity of their game. In parallel, Pep Guardiola does not hit the key in a City increasingly out of the fight for the Premier League
Of the hand of Pep Guardiola and with legends like Messi, Xavi or Iniesta in the staff, that were in the best moment of his careers, the Barça turned into the most brilliant team of the history: indisputable champion of LaLiga, winner of two Champions League and owner of a philosophy of game that enamoró the whole planet.
Nevertheless, in 2012 it arrived the moment that both separated his ways. Guardiola Decided to take a sabbatical year to recover the strengths and the illusion to train and the FC Barcelona went on with Tito Vilanova. Since, Pep has gone through two teams more (Bayern of Munich and Manchester City) and the Barça has had three trainers more (Tata Martino, Luis Enrique and Ernesto Valverde), but at all has gone back to be the same for any of the two parts.
With the step of the years, the Barça was losing this so brilliant game. After a stage of marked transition by the course of Guardiola, the consternation as a result of the illness of Tito Vilanova and the grey step of the Tata Martino, arrived Luis Enrique. With the Asturian, the Barça turned into a much more vertical team, of less possession but of a lot of hit and that still conserved the Barcelona essence. And it won another triplete.
The step of the years wore out to the Asturian and arrived Valverde, with which, after a time, the team has lost all atisbo of this game of touch that enamoró the world. Neither trace of this pressure en bloc that it did not allow to the rival happen of the centre of the field, of these posesiónes with fast circulation that generated multiple occasions and of this collective game that hardly gave break to the opponents. Progressively, the Barça has gone losing the identity.
But, over time, Guardiola also is experiencing problems. With the Bayern of Munich reigned in Germany, but did not achieve to win the Champions League that yes won his predecessor Jupp Heynckes. In the Manchester City won two Premier Leagues, but did not obtain good results in Europe and, to day of today, is in his worst moment with the English: to 14 points of the leadership (with a party more than the Liverpool) and with the Real Madrid expecting in Champions.
Parallel crises
Curiously, they are coinciding the worst moments of the decade for a FC lacking Barcelona of game and for a Guardiola lacking of results. Many are those that ask what had happened if the Catalan followed training to the Barcelona, but is something that never will know. What yes know is that the game of touch has gone in in crisis.
