FC Barcelona sees the return of Frenkie de Jong and Pablo Gavi getting closer and closer, two assets who train with greater intensity day by day. For the culé fortune, it seems that his medical discharge is about to arrive

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Not all news is bad for FC Barcelona when it comes to injuries. Although the worst has been confirmed regarding Marc-André ter Stegen, who has already undergone surgery for a ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee, likely to miss between seven and eight months of action, the Culé team is beginning to see the return of two 'signings' for Hansi Flick, who is getting closer.

In this regard, through social media, an audiovisual material has been shared showing how two key pieces to strengthen the Culé midfield, Frenkie de Jong (severe grade two sprain in his right ankle) and Pablo Gavi (complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and an associated injury in the lateral meniscus), are training regularly. Both the Dutchman and the Andalusian are progressing in their total recovery, and their return should be imminent.

It is worth noting that both players returned to training this September after long periods of absence (10 months in the case of Gavi and five months in the case of De Jong), and they have gradually been regaining their form, to the point that, as shown by the club, they are already training with remarkable intensity. Recently, a one-on-one scene between both players emerged, exciting the Blaugrana fans due to how physically fit both Culé stars appeared.

When could Frenkie de Jong and Gavi return to action?

With this premise, it is clear that the medical clearance could be very close. At this point, the forecast is that Frenkie de Jong could return to the squads, either for the match against CA Osasuna (28/09) in LaLiga EA Sports or against Young Boys (01/10) in the UEFA Champions League.

However, there hasn't been a precise prognosis for Gavi's return due to the caution with which his recovery is being handled. Apparently, in the most optimistic predictions, his return could be before the October international break (from October 7 to 15, 2024), although it's possible that his comeback could be delayed until November.
