This Monday, December 6, FC Barcelona will head to Saudi Arabia aiming to secure the first title of the season in the Supercopa de España. Hansi Flick will take the opportunity to bond with the squad and will call up all first team players, whether they are available or not.
This means that players like Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, who are awaiting the resolution of their registrations, will be alongside their teammates in Jeddah, although the coach is reportedly 'cooking up' another surprise. This is Marc Bernal, who would also be part of the Barça expedition in the Arabian Peninsula, as reported by 'SPORT'.
Barça is optimistic about Bernal's recovery
Although his return to the pitch is scheduled for August-September of this year, the coaching staff's idea is to include him in the call-up so he can live alongside his teammates. The midfielder will train at the team's facilities in Saudi Arabia and will even join the rest of the squad in some sessions.
The player's recovery is going smoothly, and the club assures that Bernal has exceeded expectations in terms of timelines, as the latest check-ups have confirmed that his injury is progressing very satisfactorily. Besides Marc, the other injured first team players (Ferran Torres, Christensen, and Héctor Fort) will also travel to the Middle East, with Ter Stegen being the only absentee in the expedition.
