It is 25 years since Xavi made his official debut as a Barça player.

For the summer of 1998, Xavi found on holiday with his family in the Costa Brava, enjoying of some days of rest after having linked the European Sub-18 with the 'stage' of the Barça in Prestbury (England), under the orders of Go Gaal. The Dutch technician called to the midfield player to play in Palm against the Mallorca in the gone of the Supercopa of Spain. In that moment, and in front of the absence of Guardiola, was necessary the presence of a midfield player to litigate by the title.

Xavi was to title in his debut in official competition with the Barça and besides marked, to the exit of a corner, the first goal of the party. It was on 18 August 1998 and, 25 years afterwards, that youngster debutante is the second footballer in parties played with the Barcelona and the trainer of the first team, with which already has won a League and a Supercopa of Spain.

In this occasion, no only produced his official debut in the old Stadium Lluís Sitjar, but besides it marked his first goal with the T-shirt of the club of his loves. Coinciding with the arrival of the brothers Of Boer and the full recovery of Pep Guardiola, Xavi, that played in the half beside Guardiola, suffered a cut in a foot that had it ten days offside. This setback truncated his series and left to be fixed in the eleven headline. However, the young midfield player already had won a place in the first team.
