Leroy Sané, today, seems to be far from renewing with Bayern Munich. Given this situation, trying to sign him at zero cost next summer opens up as an attractive option. Will Barça try?
The FC Barcelona is attentive to any alternative that can serve as a 'low-cost' and high-level option to reinforce the squad, especially concerning the left side of the offensive front. The club is interested in acquiring the services of a top-level winger, with names like Nico Williams from Athletic Club, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli, or Rafa Leão from AC Milan being mentioned.
However, it is clear that there are some market options that, although not too common to read about, Barcelona seemingly hasn't neglected. For instance, the left winger from Bayern Munich, Leroy Sané is one of them.
The situation of Leroy in the Munich team is surrounded by great uncertainty. Why? The talented forward, with a past at another European giant like Manchester City, ends his contract with the German club on June 30, 2025. Although a renewal seems likely since it has been mentioned recently that the player and the club are in discussions and feel comfortable with the direction of those discussions, nothing has been finalized yet.
Bayern no longer sees Leroy Sané's renewal as a priority
Recently, as reported by the German outlet 'BILD', the permanence of Leroy Sané at Bayern Munich seems more uncertain than ever. According to the aforementioned source, the Bavarian club management had a conversation before Christmas, and apparently, following that contact, the Munich side no longer considers him a priority for renewal, citing some doubts about his future performance.
Given this situation, it would not be surprising if, despite Sané apparently being willing to facilitate his renewal by lowering his salary and showing total willingness to extend his contract with Bayern, the German forward could end up as a free agent. Now, the only thing that could change the course of this situation is if Leroy shows what 'BILD' has dubbed as an 'explosion of performance' in the coming months, which could influence the decision of the Bavarian club's management.
Will Barcelona neglect the situation of the German forward? Will they try to sign him?
If Sané does not renew his contract with Bayern Munich, as of the next June 30, he could become a free agent, a very attractive option for any team, including an FC Barcelona interested in reinforcing their left wing.
Perhaps the Catalan club sees in the German a winger who has shown he can be one of the best in the world when in top form, making him an interesting option to consider. For Sané, signing for one of Europe's giants like Barcelona could be an enticing prospect. Will this materialize?
