Paris Saint-Germain will not be a threat to FC Barcelona with Dani Olmo. Initially, the Parisian club has already ruled out pursuing the attacking midfielder in January
Dani Olmo's future at FC Barcelona is not at risk ahead of the transfer market that opens this Wednesday, January 1. In recent days, rumors circulated about a supposed interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the 26-year-old player, taking advantage of his potential exit at 'zero cost' from Barça if he was not registered in time for the second half of the season; a clause established in the contract of the former RB Leipzig player.
According to 'SPORT', Barça has already dispelled the threat of a possible Parisian offer for the player from Terrassa through Deco. The Blaugrana sporting director maintains an excellent relationship with the person in charge of the same area at the Parisian club, Luis Campos, who has already committed to not contacting the '20' culé, regardless of the setbacks the Catalans face in resolving the player's registration.
Similarly, Luis Enrique played an important role in PSG's decision not to pursue the Spanish international in the winter. 'Lucho' would be delighted to add Olmo to his squad, but he knows very well that the attacking midfielder only wants to play in Barcelona and has no intention of harming Hansi Flick's team by causing a significant departure due to a purely financial setback.
Barça must act quickly to resolve Dani Olmo's future
LaLiga requires updating the registrations of Dani and Pau Víctor before midnight on December 31, as the league updates the rosters of each club just before the winter market opens at 00:00 hours on January 1. Hence, the Blaugrana's priority is to resolve both registrations this Monday, the day the club's management expects to finalize the sale of VIP boxes at Spotify Camp Nou, a 'lever' that will leave around 120 million euros in cash.
Additionally, Barça is also awaiting the ruling from the First Instance Court on the morning of December 30, although expectations regarding this route are not good following the ruling from the Commercial Court last Friday. The other option left for the culés to exhaust is to present personal guarantees, an emergency measure that would only be activated if the judicial and financial routes do not succeed.
