Vitor Roque is not having a good time at FC Barcelona and still does not want to leave. Therefore, the striker must focus and make the best decision for his future, because in Barcelona he runs the risk of stagnating his career

Calendar of FC Barcelona

Vitor Roque faces a big dilemma. The 19-year-old player is not in Hansi Flick's plans for FC Barcelona. The German coach made this clear in the preseason, where the Brazilian had few minutes of play. For this reason, the board has been looking for a way out for him for weeks in the form of a loan or transfer. If he does not leave Barcelona in the summer, he would be exposing himself to various scenarios, including stalling his football career.

Roque and the risk of staying in Barcelona

One of the first scenarios that could occur if he stays is that the Catalan club registers him in the first team for the next season. This taking into account that the Brazilian has been a player owned by the team since June 30, however, at the end of last season in LaLiga he was no longer registered, because in the last championship he took the place of Gavi, who seriously injured his knee.

After this, two things could happen. One option is that he be registered before August 30 in Flick's first team, but that he does not play in any of Barcelona's matches, either in the Spanish league or in the Champions League. This would not pose any problem for the Catalans since, according to the agreement between LaLiga and the majority union AFE, a club is not obliged to field a player. The other option would be that the board decides not to register him in the first team, even if he does not have a destination club. This option is allowed, as long as the Blaugrana club continues to exceed its 'fair play'.

This means that, if everything is regulated at a financial level, the team from the Ciudad Condal is obliged to register him, unless it already has the 25 first team wages covered. The Blaugrana board has already experienced this situation because Gavi suffered a similar situation in the winter transfer market in January 2023. At that time, LaLiga did not register the player as a first-team player because the club exceeded the salary limit.

Therefore, Roque will have to make a decision quickly. If he stays, he runs the risk of not playing at least until the winter transfer market and if he leaves he could regain the confidence he has lost after complex months wearing the Barça shirt. Right now, his desire is a transfer to another European team, so the board will have to get to work to say goodbye to one of the most difficult cases they have had in the first team.
