OLMO HOPES TO PLAY AGAINST RAYO
What is FC Barcelona missing to be able to register Dani Olmo in LaLiga?
For the second consecutive match, Dani Olmo was unable to make his LaLiga debut with FC Barcelona, as the club's board was unable to register him for the tournament. The positive thing is that the club has several options to solve the problem
Dani Olmo is starting to get desperate. Even though the player knew what he was up against when he arrived at FC Barcelona, the Euro 2024 winner wants to be able to make his debut with Hansi Flick's team as soon as possible. The German coach has been understanding of the situation, but hopes to have the player available for the match on Tuesday, August 27 against Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas.
On August 24, Barça did not obtain approval from LaLiga to be able to register the midfielder and he missed the match against Athletic Club. They will now have just over two days to secure his registration for the third matchday. The departure of Mika Faye has already been confirmed and they hope to finalize the loan of Clement Lenglet, whose announcement is imminent. This would allow them to lighten the wage bill and, with luck, they will be able to register him.
Everything will depend on how the center-back's salary will be after his renewal with the Blaugrana team and if his transfer can be deferred before making the agreement. We also have to wait to see how much Atlético will take on the fee, which will determine the salary space that Barcelona will have available to sign Olmo. In the event that there is not enough salary space, the board would have to loan or transfer a player who is registered, such as Eric García or Pablo Torres.
What other options does Barcelona have to sign Olmo?
Another option that would help the Blaugrana team to sign Olmo would be to resolve the Barça Studios case. The imago of the German company Líbero must be replaced by a third purchasing agent for the unpaid shares. There is also the possibility of closing the new agreement with Nike, although this is more complicated. Let us remember that this case is in court and the dispute has made it impossible to reach a deal that benefits all parties in dispute. A renewal agreement would generate a large income for the Spaniards and would help the club return to 1:1.
Finally, there is the option of obtaining personal guarantees from the board that make Dani Olmo's registration possible. In the summer of 2022, Jules Koundé was registered in this way, because the player suffered a situation similar to the one the Spaniard is currently experiencing. Time is running out and we will have to wait until Tuesday to find out if the former RB Leipzig player will be able to play against Rayo Vallecano, hopefully that will be the case.
