Barça has punished the groups that make up the Montjuic animation stand by closing this space. It has announced this in a statement, which explains that this is due to "the failure of the groups that form part of the obligations they have assumed with the club." Thus, this area will be unusable from this Tuesday, the day of the match against Brest.

"Given the content of the agreements accepted and signed between the club and the animation groups, FC Barcelona, after repeated warnings, began the process to recover the amount of the sanctions imposed on the club for its behavior in the stands during last season; behavior that generated up to fourteen disciplinary proceedings for behavior contrary to the regulations in force in the animation area. During this process, the groups have been given up to three different deadlines to comply with their obligations; the last one expired at midnight yesterday without any result," explains Barça in its statement.

This punishment has no set end date, as explained in the last paragraph of the notification: "As the different groups were informed, having not fulfilled their obligations within any of the deadlines granted, FC Barcelona proceeds to close the Espai d'Animació sine die. At the same time, we reiterate to the groups in question the club's full availability, once they have fulfilled their obligations, to discuss the EDA situation with them."

Thus, the Barça Board of Directors has taken action on the matter. The Blaugrana team's position is clear and blunt: closed until the fines are paid. The club does not intend to give in in a situation that is about fulfilling responsibilities. We will have to wait to see what the next step is in this matter.
