Bartomeu says goodbye to FC Barcelona with attacks and explains why he resigns

This Tuesday in the afternoon, Josep Maria Bartomeu has put an end to his six years at the head of the presidency of the FC Barcelona, a charge that occupied from the goodbye of Sandro Rosell until today, going through some elections that won. After the announcement of his resignation, the already ex president culé appeared in a speech in which it showed punzante and very critical with the Generalitat by his answer on the vote of censorship.

Josep Maria Bartomeu accused to the Catalan government to wash the hands in front of an uncomfortable situation in spite of that knew the terms. "This morning I have received answer of the Generalitat to the letter of yesterday. His answer is clear. They say us that it can vote inside the protocol of headquarters decentralised, but do not do reference to the request of legal coverage to summon some elections with the minimum sanitary conditions necessary in this context. Neither they speak of the date, still knowing that we are forced to summon today the vote of censorship not to break the statutes of the club" , initiated.

The ex Barcelona president remembered that what the FC Barcelona asked to the Generalitat was the same that the Catalan government asked to the state. "We asked them legal coverage. The same that asked they to the Central Government to be able to take extraordinary measures, like the touch of remain and others. But they have decided to not to give us to us the same that they have asked and achieved of the Government of the State. "The Generalitat has been irresponsible, but we no and therefore we resign"

Josep Maria Bartomeu followed with his criticisms to the Catalan government and desveló the threat of legal actions by part of the impulsores of the motion: "This morning it has gathered the table of the vote of censorship where has posed vote in 21 headquarters but the days 15 and 16 November. So much the impulsores of the vote of censorship like the president of the table have opposite and have said that would undertake timely legal actions against the managerial board of the club", specified.

The criticisms of the ex president were going up of tone along all the speech. "Yesterday it spoke of the perplexity in front of some decisions. Today I say that these decisions are irresponsible and contradictory. In a moment that the Generalitat is applying grave measures to the citizens, the families and the companies and when from yesterday is speaking of confinements of weekend and with experts that even speak to confine more time, do not find another calificativo that the one of irresponsible when saying us that we can vote", explained.

Josep Maria Bartomeu has explained the reason of his dimisiónasegurando that "we, the directors, have to act with responsibility. It was necessary to vote with all the guarantees, that there were not people that could not it do by fear to the contagion or for being of a community of risk or vulnerable. To the not having these guarantees, take the decision of not summoning the vote of censorship and resign".

Why it did not resign before?

Josep Maria Bartomeu explained why his resignation did not arrive before. "After the elimination in Champions, the easiest was to leave. The easiest was to resign. But from the following day of that very painful defeat, it was necessary to take decisions inaplazables, fundamental to guarantee the sportive future and the immediate sustainability of the Club. And besides, it was necessary to do it in the middle of an unprecedented world-wide crisis like consequence of the pandemia that live. We could not leave the Club in hands of a managing board with competitions limited", signalled.

The ex president did reference to all the pending tasks. "Who had hired the new technician? Who went to decide and negotiate during the market futbolístico? Who went to defend the continuity of Leo Messi? Who had to execute the measures of reduction of the cost?
