Once the Extraordinary Board Meeting of FC Barcelona ended on Monday, September 30, the Barça club has issued an official statement through its official media where it has announced the estimated date of the expected return of the first team to the Spotify Camp Nou. The return to the culé stronghold would take place from the second round of the season, with reduced capacity.

"The first men's football team will continue to play at the Estadi Olímpic during the first half of the season, with the aim of returning to a Spotify Camp Nou with reduced capacity in the second round", read the message released by Barça.

The possible dates for the return to Camp Nou

In this way, the Catalan institution suggests that Hansi Flick's team will finish the first round of the season at Montjuïc, which ends in mid-January 2025. Thus, the first match at the new Spotify Camp Nou could be the FC Barcelona-Valencia match of the 21st round, scheduled for the weekend of January 25-26, 2025.

If the culé stadium is not ready for the match against the Che team, the return could be scheduled for the following day, against Alavés, in the duel scheduled for the weekend of February 1-2, 2025.

However, in the Champions League the story is different, since Barça will have to play the entire group stage at Montjuïc, with the last match against Atalanta to be played on January 29. Once the first round is over, the Catalans could ask UEFA to change their stadium and play the knockout stage at the Camp Nou.
