BARÇA HOPES TO RETURN AT THE END OF THE YEAR
The return to Spotify Camp Nou is near! This is how the works on the Barça stadium are progressing
The reopening of the Spotify Camp Nou is getting closer. The stadium's renovations are not stopping and progress is positive, so the Catalans hope to return to the Catalan stronghold at the end of the year
The Spotify Camp Nou continues to take shape. FC Barcelona wants to play matches in the stadium before the end of 2024, so the renovations are continuing to fulfill the wish of the president, Joan Laporta, to end the year in the renovated stadium of the Blaugrana team. The progress is visible and now decisive months are coming to ensure that everything is ready for the return of the team.
In recent days, the most important progress at the Camp Nou has been made in the structure of the third tier. The workers are close to finishing the placement of pillars and beams that will surround the entire stadium. Some of the sectors of the Grandstand are still pending work, although the reinforcement that will be used to concrete the pillars that will support the entire weight of the stand is already being installed.
Start of the construction of the VIP terrace
One of the key details in this renovation is that the first brackets that will support the terrace of the first VIP ring have already begun to be placed. The construction of the stands that will connect the second tier with the VIP area of the stadium has also begun. The exterior of the Grandstand has also made considerable progress in recent weeks. All the spaces for the changing rooms, mixed zone, press room, shop and catering have made great progress and there are several areas where they have almost reached street level.
Another positive aspect is that a vehicle access has been opened on the Travessera de les Corts, which has allowed the work on the South Goal to progress considerably in recent days. The pavement and the bus lane on the street have also been cut off to accommodate a crane, which is making it possible for the work to continue without setbacks. At the moment, the least advanced area of the Camp Nou is the car park, which will have 3,000 spaces once finished, although this is not too worrying, because this car park is not expected to be operational before the end of the year.
Barcelona brings fans closer to the construction of the Camp Nou
A few days ago, the culé team presented a renewed page dedicated to the progress of the works of the Espai Barça, where a broader view of all the details of the project is offered so that fans can follow the progress of the construction at all times. Let us remember that this is a project of the board of directors of the Blaugrana team that proposes to redevelop the Camp Nou and its surroundings through the creation of an auditorium, sports facilities and a new Palau Blaugrana.
Barcelona also recently released virtual images where you can see what the new stadium will look like once the renovations are completely finished. The first match of this year is scheduled to take place on December 22, 2024 against Atlético de Madrid, but the renovations could continue until 2026.
