The Spanish national football team, led by Luis de la Fuente, has closed a 2024 for the history books, consolidating itself as one of the great powers of European football. On July 14, Spain achieved glory by winning its fourth European Championship, in an unforgettable final in Berlin in which goals from Nico Williams and Mikel Oyarzabal gave victory in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

In the press conference prior to that final, De la Fuente defined the spirit of his team with a phrase that resonated as an echo of greatness: “I am a gladiator”. With that mentality, the coach has transformed the team into something more than a team, a group that combines talent, sacrifice and unity. Under his leadership, Spain has stopped being a simple contender to become a true champion.

Success is not limited to the European Championship. Spain also closed the year by certifying its qualification for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Nations League, a competition that it already won in the previous edition.

The European Championship reaffirmed the talent of figures such as Álvaro Morata, who lifted the trophy to the sky, and the emergence of young talents such as Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams. The combination of experience and youth has been key to the success of this generation.
