The VAR ruled out two goals for Espanyol thanks to Barça's advanced line. So far this season, there have been 13 goals that have not been recorded on the scoreboard

Calendar of FC Barcelona

The advanced defensive line is beginning to be one of the main hallmarks of Hansi Flick's FC Barcelona. The Blaugrana team is practising this system millimetrically and its rivals are beginning to be unhinged by it.

Espanyol was the last of them, since it scored 3 goals in the defeat this Sunday at Montjuïc (3-1) and two of them were disallowed due to the offside position of one of its players. To date, up to 13 goals have been disallowed for Barça's rivals, 7 of them due to the intervention of the VAR.

Iñigo Martínez, the leader of the 'offside'

Iñigo Martínez was the last man in 5 of these 13 goals, followed by Cubarsí and Balde, both being the last to come out on two occasions. The Catalans' 'streak' began in Villarreal, who scored 3 goals that did not go on the scoreboard. Since then, one goal disallowed against Monaco, two against Alavés, one against Sevilla, one against Bayern, two against Real Madrid and now two against the periquito team.

In addition, in the twelve league matches played to date, Barça is the team that has caused the most offsides against its rivals, with a total of 84 (seven in the derby). Behind the Blaugranas, second is Osasuna (35) and they are followed by Athletic (27), Las Palmas (27) and Valencia (27).
