Cristiano Ronaldo sees Lamine Yamal as a clear favourite to win the Ballon d'Or in the future. The Portuguese player confessed on his YouTube channel that he sees the Barça star taking home the trophy, while he 'ignored' Vini Jr. from his list of candidates

Calendar of FC Barcelona

As he goes through the twilight of his successful career, Cristiano Ronaldo begins to venture into new projects outside the playing field. The 39-year-old Portuguese star remains one of the most influential sportsmen in the world of sport, which is why he made the decision to start a new stage as a 'youtuber'. The striker launched his channel 'UR - Cristiano' at the end of last August, and in less than a month he already has the impressive figure of 60 million followers.

Faced with this numerous platform, 'CR7' left a huge compliment to Lamine Yamal that has not gone unnoticed. In a chat with his former teammate and friend Rio Ferdinand, the Portuguese assured that the 'crack' of FC Barcelona is one of the great candidates to take home the Ballon d'Or, recognition for the best player in the world in the coming years.

"Mbappé can win the next Ballon d'Or. Probably Haaland, Bellingham and Lamine too. They are all part of a new generation with a lot of talent and potential. But I think Mbappé will do very well," replied the Madeiran when asked about the new Real Madrid striker.

However, the fact that Cristiano mentioned Lamine among his favourites has caught the attention of fans, who have also been surprised to notice that Ronaldo 'passed' by Vinicius Jr. when mentioning possible candidates. The Brazilian's name was put on the table by Ferdinad, but far from commenting on it or agreeing, the goalscorer proceeded with his list and immediately mentioned Yamal.

The great candidate of the future

Although it is very unlikely that the Barça winger will win the award this season, everything points to him being one of the undisputed winners in the future. In fact, this year he became the youngest player in history to be nominated for the award, adding another record to his cause. He is also the main favourite to win the Golden Boy and the Kopa Trophy, awards in which he has a significant advantage over his closest competitors.
