Cristiano Ronaldo does not rule out returning to European football in 2025. The 39-year-old forward's contract ends in June, allowing him to negotiate with any club starting this Wednesday
The future of Cristiano Ronaldo points once again to European football in the summer of 2025. The Portuguese 'crack' will turn 40 in February, but he remains convinced of continuing his career for at least one more season, as long as he can maintain his privileged physical condition. This season, the Portuguese international has scored 16 goals and provided 3 assists in 19 matches with Al Nassr.
"No one knows what can happen in the future", said the experienced forward during the Globe Soccer Awards gala, where he was honored as the Best Player in the Middle East and All-Time Top Scorer. 'CR7' will have total freedom to negotiate with any club starting Wednesday, January 1 and, if he keeps in mind the possibility of playing his last World Cup with Portugal in 2026, it is likely that he will try to return to Europe in 2025.
However, Ronaldo also made it clear his desire to win a title in Arabia with Al Nassr, a goal that has eluded him for the past two years. The Funchal native arrived in Saudi league at the end of 2022, after terminating his contract with Manchester United. In 83 matches, he has scored 74 goals and provided 18 assists, in addition to receiving 10 yellow cards and only one red card.
Cristiano Ronaldo does not forget Manchester United
Despite having left through the back door of Old Trafford in 2022, Cristiano also made clear his "love" for United, a club that is still far from the success it achieved from the late 90s until the end of the first decade of the 21st century. Although the Portuguese has no intentions of becoming a coach in the future, he does not rule out returning to the 'red devils' as an executive or owner, as he believes that the club's problem "is not with the coaches".
