The 2024/25 season is providing more and more excitement, and at FCBN we take this opportunity to inform about which is the team in best form in each of the five major European leagues (LaLiga, Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1), as well as their performance in international competitions like the UEFA Champions League. This analysis is a good barometer to evaluate the current state of a squad.

FC Barcelona - LaLiga EA Sports

When talking about teams in good form, it's impossible not to mention FC Barcelona. Under Hansi Flick's leadership, they are having a dominant performance in LaLiga EA Sports. After six matchdays, despite facing a significant wave of injuries, the Culés have achieved six victories, thus accumulating 18 out of 18 possible points.

Moreover, they are the team with the most goals scored, with 22 in the entire Spanish tournament. The attacking trio of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha is in a devastating form. The only setback in their record in this 2024/25 season has been the defeat on the opening matchday against AS Monaco (2-1) in the UEFA Champions League, placing the Blaugrana club at the 22nd position in the group stage table with zero points.

Manchester City - Premier League

In the Premier League, the situation doesn't differ much from the usual, with Manchester City leading the domestic competition. Under the guidance of Pep Guardiola, after five matches played, they have 5 wins and 1 draw, with 13 goals scored and 5 conceded, giving them 13 points, just one above their closest rival. Despite coming close to defeat, as in their recent match against Arsenal (2-2), where a goal by John Stones in the 90+8 minute avoided their first loss of the season, it shows how tough it is to beat this team.

In the Champions League, the story changes a bit, as on the opening matchday, the 'Citizens' ended up drawing, facing a tough challenge against Inter Milan, with a 0-0 result at the Etihad Stadium. As a result, the 'Sky Blues' are currently in the 20th position in the group stage table in their quest for the 'Big Ears' trophy.

At this point, it's clear who the main figure in Manchester City's attack is. With an exceptional squad of players, Erling Haaland stands out as the undisputed leader in the frontline. Since the start of the 2024/25 season, the Norwegian striker has shown a remarkable goal-scoring hunger, currently tallying 10 goals in seven matches. Simply unstoppable.

Torino - Serie A

Curiously, in Serie A, the leadership of the league doesn't rest with the usual giants (Inter, Milan, Juventus, Napoli), but this time Torino has unexpectedly emerged. After five matchdays, Paolo Vanoli's team has achieved three victories and two draws, thus collecting 11 points, with eight goals scored and five conceded. This success is largely due to an attack led by Duván Zapata and Che Adams.

Bayern Munich - Bundesliga

So far in the 2024/25 season, the impressive performance of Bayern Munich cannot be overlooked. Under the guidance of Vincent Kompany, the Bavarian team has had a flawless start in the Bundesliga, with four wins in four matches played (12 out of 12), and a notable record of 16 goals scored and only three conceded.

Similarly, the impact of 'Die Roten' in the UEFA Champions League was equally surprising, as in the first matchday, they achieved a resounding 9-2 victory over Dinamo Zagreb, thus securing the top spot in the group stage in their pursuit of the 'Big Ears' trophy. In this regard, the main figure in the Munich squad is undoubtedly Harry Kane, who has been a key piece in the relentless German offensive arsenal, supported by young talents like Michael Olise.

PSG, Monaco, and Marseille - Ligue 1

On the other hand, a particular situation is unfolding in Ligue 1 in France. Currently, there is a tie at the top of the league between three teams: Olympique Marseille, AS Monaco, and Paris Saint-Germain, all with 13 points each. These teams have gathered their points in a similar fashion, with four wins and one loss in five matches played.

Despite the points tie, the Marseille team leads the table due to their better goal difference: 15 goals scored and six conceded. Roberto De Zerbi's side is followed by Monaco in the second place with a goal difference of 10 for and 2 against, and Parisians in the third spot with 17 goals for and 4 against.

Now, looking at the broader picture and including international competitions like the Champions League, we see that Olympique Marseille is not participating in European competitions. In contrast, both PSG and Monaco started their journey in the UEFA Champions League similarly, with narrow one-goal victories (PSG 1-0 Girona and Monaco 2-1 FC Barcelona). Currently, both teams are in competitive positions in the Champions League group stage table (14th and 15th), showing that they are in good form both in their national leagues and on the international stage.
