CHRISTENSEN IS NOT HAPPY WITH BARÇA
FC Barcelona seeks to avoid 'wars' with Andreas Christensen
Andreas Christensen is not entirely happy with FC Barcelona's decision to classify his injury as a long-term one, because those close to him assure that he will be ready to play before the time stipulated in the medical report
FC Barcelona do not want to go to war with Andreas Christensen. The Danish defender is reportedly upset with the decision that his injury has allowed Dani Olmo to be registered for the current LaLiga season. The player from Terrassa will be available and will probably start for Hansi Flick's team in the match against Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas on August 27.
In order for this registration to be possible, the Blaugrana club sent a medical report to the competition's governing body on the Dane's injury. The document stated that the treatment that the defender will follow to recover from his left Achilles injury will mean that he will be absent from the pitch for four months.
This report was classified by LaLiga as a long-term injury. Therefore, the Blaugrana team took advantage of article 77 of the LaLiga Club Budgeting Rules and used part of Christensen's salary to register Olmo. The defender would not have liked this situation at all, which could generate friction between the player and the Blaugrana board.
Barcelona reassures Christensen
The player's entourage assures that the centre-back will be ready to play before four months, so the board decided to take a step forward to reassure their player. Christensen was assured that he is still registered with LaLiga and that he will be able to play once his recovery is complete. However, in order for him to be able to play, the Blaugrana entity must have generated the amount that has been used from his contract to register Olmo.
The club hopes to generate that money in the coming weeks, especially since it seems that there is already a renewal agreement in principle with Nike, so he and Olmo will be able to play together without any problem. If an agreement is reached on the extension of contracts with the American clothing brand for 10 years, in addition to the arrival of a new investor for Barça Vision, the board will reach the long-awaited 1:1 rule and the registration problems for the entity would end.
