PRESIDENT CULÉ, INVESTIGATED
Joan Laporta, accused of the 'Negreira case'
The top president of FC Barcelona, Joan Laporta, joins the list of 'protagonists' investigated for the 'Negreira case' and the club's alleged bribes to the former vice president of the CTA
It adds a new chapter in the 'case Negreira' and the relation that kept the FC Barcelona by almost two decades with the exvicepresidente of the Technical Committee of Referees, after the headline of the Court of Instruction number 1 of Barcelona, Joaquín Aguirre, imputed to the Barcelona club by crime of cohecho. Now, Joan Laporta has added to the list of investigated beside Sandro Rosell and Josep María Bartomeu.
'EFE' has had access to the car in which Joaquín Aguirre has taken the decision to investigate to Laporta, the one who had been excluded by the Fiscaía Anticorrupción in first instance, when it presented the complaint by the 7,3 million euros that the Catalan entity had paid to José María Enríquez Negreira and his son in the periods comprised between the 2001 and 2018, understanding that his participation -in his first presidency- had prescribed.
Joan Laporta forms part of the investigation
However, in this new stretch of the investigation, the headline of the Juzggado of Instruction number 1 of Barcelona gives responsibility to Laporta and to those who accompanied him in his managerial board during his first mandate, recpordando that the facts that are being investigated could constitute a crime of cohecho continued, among others. The Penal Code collects that the term of the prescription is of 10 years since it took place the last penal infringement or, in this case, ceased the relation with Negreira. It takes place in July of 2018 and, ten years before, was 'Jan' the one who carried the reins of the club.
Like this then , of agreement to the interpretation of Aguirre, to the mandators of the Barça have to investigate them by ten years, retreating from 17 July of the 2018. It keeps that it could treat of a crime continued of cochecho and, in case to be like this, covers to all the presidents in the period. Already they were imputed Sandro Rosell and Josep María Bartomeu. Only it was missing to define the of Laporta.
The case of Negreira and his son
On the other hand, in the car to the that has had access 'EFE' establishes that, with Negreira and his son, the imputable acts would arrive until June of 2003 because they consider public civil servants to penal effects, surpass the ten years of inhabilitación. The judge sustains that by his facts "had by strength that benefit to the FC Barcelona to the detriment of the rest of clubs of the League of First Division or of his rivals in the Glass of Rey", although they still have not found concrete indications.
