The FC Barcelona Women’s team continues to face setbacks following the recent international break. Kika Nazareth, one of the new faces in the azulgrana squad this season, suffered a muscle contusion as a result of a knock sustained in one of the matches she played with the Portuguese national team. According to the club, the forward will be sidelined for approximately a week, keeping her out of the squad for upcoming fixtures.

The player completed 90 minutes in Portugal’s matches against the Czech Republic, where she even scored a goal, but returned with discomfort that Barça’s medical staff confirmed as a minor injury. Nazareth was unavailable for Barça’s victory over Betis on Saturday, December 7. She is now also doubtful for the upcoming Women’s Champions League match on Thursday against Hammarby in Sweden.

If recovery timelines are met, Kika Nazareth could return to action on December 15 against Valencia. Additionally, she is expected to be available for the crucial December 18 clash against Manchester City at Montjuïc.
