Lamine Yamal was the big surprise of the traditional open training session held by FC Barcelona before the end of the year. The '19' reappeared alongside the other injured players to greet the fans.

Calendar of FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona returned to work this Sunday after a week of Christmas vacation with the traditional open training session. The squad received a warm welcome to close a very complicated December in La Liga with a festive atmosphere, and during the day, the Barça fans received a very special surprise. After almost an hour and a half of work on the field, Lamine Yamal reappeared at the Johan Cruyff to share some time with the fans, mostly children who filled the stands of the Estadi to take photos and receive autographs from their idols.

The '19' stepped onto the field in training gear, along with the other injured players. Ter Stegen, Ferran Torres, Héctor Fort, and Marc Bernal accompanied the player from Mataró to greet a crowd that increased in volume as soon as they saw the youth player reappear with the team. Initially, the winger will be sidelined until mid-January due to the injury to his right ankle that he suffered in the match against Atlético de Madrid, just a couple of weeks ago in Montjuïc.

Lamine Yamal, ready to continue his recovery in Barcelona

After spending time with his family in Dubai and receiving the award for 'Best Emerging Player' during the Globe Soccer Awards gala, Lamine returned to Barcelona to continue his recovery. Although Hansi Flick will not risk putting him in the starting eleven for the 'semis' of the Supercopa de España against Athletic Club, the 17-year-old player will make an effort to be available for the tournament to be held in Arabia from January 8 to 12.

In addition to Yamal, the fans gave strong ovations to the Barça coach and Dani Olmo, the name of the moment in the current Barça scene. Both Barça and the attacking midfielder hope to resolve his registration between Monday and Tuesday, once LaLiga accepts the documentation related to the income from the sale of VIP boxes at Spotify Camp Nou.

The open training session before the end of the year is a tradition that Barça has maintained over the last few seasons. The activity, organized by the FC Barcelona Foundation, helped raise funds for the ''Pulseras Blaugranas'' program, an initiative in favor of children and teenagers hospitalized in care centers in Catalonia. This Monday, Lamine Yamal and the rest of the Barça squad will visit various hospitals to deliver gifts and share time with the patients.
