The FC Barcelona has started this week's workday conditioned by an unexpected setback. In this case, the azulgrana team could not carry out the scheduled training session for this Monday at the Ciudad Deportiva de Sant Joan Despí. The reason? All this was due to the DANA that is hitting Spain, which this morning hit the Baix Llobregat area in the Catalan capital.
The culé expedition, after a resounding victory against RCD Espanyol (3-1), had planned, as is customary the day after each match, for the starters to have a light recovery session. Meanwhile, the rest of the players, to balance loads and keep up the pace of the game, would carry out a training session with a bit more intensity and ball work.
However, the players could not access the playing field at the Ciudad Deportiva regularly because Civil Protection issued an alert due to the strong storm. Faced with this situation, the Barcelona team had no choice but to carry out the workday entirely in the gym, as the heavy rain prevented any plans on the field from being carried out normally.
Barcelona will return to training on Tuesday
This situation could cause a slight disruption in the plans of FC Barcelona, which is already focused on the next match against Estrella Roja, corresponding to matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League, and which will take place at Rajko Mitić Stadium ('Little Maracanã') in Belgrade. It will now be necessary to assess whether Barcelona can train normally on Tuesday before traveling to Serbia. However, the trip should not be in jeopardy as a significant improvement in the weather conditions is expected in the Catalan capital and its surroundings.
