THE PRECEDENTS: Núñez and Laporta did not fall at the polls

After the recolecta of more than 20.000 signatures, except invalidation of more than 4.000, the partners of the club blaugrana will have to decide the future of the current Managerial culé in the urns by third time in the history. Until the moment, there are not precedents of a motion of able censorship to surpass the last phase: it will be necessary the approval of two thirds of the voters.

The first president of the FC Barcelona in having to subject his management to referendum, on 7 March 1998, went Josep Lluís Núñez. Hardly it had happened a year since it did with the presidency after some elections in which it surpassed to Ángel Fernández, another candidate, with 76,3% of the votes. Núñez, came to win titles like the Recopa, the Glass of Rey, the Supercopa of Spain and of traspasar to Ronaldo to the Inter of Milan.

The Platform that initiated the motion was 'Elefant Blau' led by Joan Laporta and Sebastià Rock. The collected of 5.644 valid signatures was sufficient to surpass the 4.612 necessary. Even so, the urns decided to not to give him the necessary support (35%) in spite of being backed by Johan Cruyff, that recently went out of the club with discrepancies with the president.

Eleven years later, went Joan Laporta, the same that pretended the dismissal of Núñez, the one who saw his presidency subjected to a motion of censorship. This situation taenia place in a course where the FC Barcelona was not able to win neither an alone title (2007-2008), fact that has not repeated until the previous season, with the victory of the Bayern of Munich by 8-2.

The process of the Vote of Censorship initiated it Oriol Giralt, after the painful corridor that, the Barcelona had to do him to the Real Madrid after winning LaLiga before the last day. "Barça, yes; Laporta, no", shouted the Camp Nou, in a stage where the end of cycle carried by in front to Frank Rijkaard, among others.

After collecting more than 9.000 signatures and surpass the 5.882 that they were necessary to make the referendum, Oriol Giralt was very near of destronar to Joan Laporta, but again, the urns decided in favour of the president, in this occasion, with a much more adjusted result. The president had 60% of the votes against, but, to the not arriving to the two necessary thirds, there was not immediate dismissal.

Also there have been attempts of motion of censorship that have not become voted by fault of signatures. In the 2002, Iván Carrillo initiated the initiative against the presidency of Joan Gaspar. On the other hand, Agustí Benedito, in 2017, already undertook a process of motion against the current president, Josep Maria Bartomeu. In that moment did not have sufficient support and remained , with 12.504, to 4.066 signatures to achieve the referendum.
