FC Barcelona's real 'plan B' if the signing of Nico Williams fails

Nico Williams is Barça's main target this summer. However, PSG's interference in the negotiations and Athletic Club's pressure on the player put his signing in jeopardy. At Can Barça, no one wants to imagine a scenario like that, but just in case, they already have a 'plan B' ready
Nico Williams is the name of the game this summer at FC Barcelona. The Athletic winger has been chosen by the club to reinforce the attack of the team managed by Hansi Flick, where he has been marked as the top priority of the current transfer market. The great Euro Cup performed by the footballer ended up consecrating him as one of the stars of the continent and now the big clubs have set their sights on him and are 'fighting' for his signing.

This situation has put the signing of the youngest of the Williams brothers by the Barcelona team in 'jeopardy'. The offer from the Parisians, in economic terms, is much better than the one sent from Can Barça, while in San Mamés they have opted for the 'trump card' of the sense of belonging and the opportunity to succeed at 'home' to try to convince him, so now Nico's decision is not so clear. A couple of days ago it seemed only a matter of time before the footballer announced his arrival in Barcelona, but the context has changed in the last few hours.
For this reason, in the offices of Spotify Camp Nou they are preparing for any scenario and have already defined their 'plan B'. If finally Nico's option ends up 'falling through' because he decides to join PSG or stay in Bilbao, the Catalans will go for Dani Olmo. The player from Egar is the support of the sports area and in this case there would be greater room for manoeuvre to take on his operation. RB Leipzig are open to listening to offers for the midfielder as long as they meet certain minimum requirements, while the player would be willing to wait for Barça, leaving the operation very much in favour of the Blaugranas.

However, if Niko Williams ends up giving the 'OK' to Barça's offer, the signing of Olmo would still be attempted, although for this scenario to take place a significant sale would be necessary to free up salary space. In that sense, the possible transfer of Vitor Roque to Al-Hilal could be the 'lifeline' for the Catalans, but, as of today, the Brazilian has not given his approval to the operation.
