This is the ranking of the Golden Boot for the 2024-25 season, with Salah, Lewandowski, Haaland, Kane, Isak, and Gyökeres competing to be the top European scorer
The Golden Boot ranking for 2024-25 is a fierce battle led by Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Erling Haaland (Manchester City), and Robert Lewandowski. All three forwards scored over the weekend with their clubs and remain, along with Alexander Isak (Newcastle) and Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), the main contenders for the highest award given to goal scorers in Europe.
'Lewy' scored the sixth goal for Barça in the thrashing of Valencia (7-1), keeping him as the Pichichi of LaLiga with 17 goals. One more goal follows from Haaland, who scored one of the goals for the 'sky blue' team against Chelsea (7-1) on Saturday. The current leader is Salah. The Egyptian scored a goal in the 'reds' rout against Ipswich. Isak and Kane are tied with the same number of goals as Robert. The Swede scored a brace against Southampton (1-3), while the Englishman also netted a goal against Freiburg (1-2).
Lewandowski, Haaland, and Salah Hold the Advantage in the Race for the Golden Boot
Players in LaLiga, just like those in the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, and Ligue 1, receive two points for each goal scored. In contrast, second-tier leagues, such as Portugal, only award 1.5 points for each goal scored. This explains why Viktor Gyökeres, the Pichichi of the Primeira Liga with 22 goals in 19 matches, does not appear in the TOP-5 of the contenders for the European Golden Boot 2024-25. The Swede is sixth, with 33 points.
Among the top ten goal scorers at this stage of the season, Mateo Retegui (Atalanta) also appears, the top scorer in Serie A with 16 goals, totaling 32 points. In eighth place is Omar Marmoush, thanks to the 15 goals he scored with Eintracht Frankfurt before signing with Manchester City (30 points). Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid) also has the same number of goals, while Cole Palmer (Chelsea) follows with one goal less.
