Carlo Ancelotti maintains Real Madrid's stance in defense of Vinicius. For the Italian coach, the Brazilian should not have been sent off against Valencia and, therefore, his sanction "is unfair"
Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid believe that Vinicius Jr. should not have been punished after the red card shown by César Soto Grado in the match against Valencia (1-2). LaLiga and the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) used the referee's report to impose the minimum punishment on the 24-year-old forward for a direct red card (two matches), even though the Brazilian should have received, at least, a four-match ban after assaulting goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski.
"I still think it is unfair that he was given two matches, but it is what it is", 'Carletto' began saying in his absurd speech. "He can play in the Supercup and the matches in the LaLiga competition, that’s what we have to settle for", he added in his talk with 'Movistar+'. The Italian had also criticized the punishment against '7' in the press conference before the match against Mallorca, where 'Vini' is again aiming for the starting XI after his substitution against Deportiva Minera in the Cup.
"I still think it is unfair...".

Ancelotti is starting to get fed up with the 'Vini case'
"When it is said that Vinicius is the one provoking, it is to divert the attention from the insults he receives", Ancelotti said, not without first showing his fatigue at having to talk about the issue again. "Again?", he said before answering yet another question about the winger. "It is still difficult to be Vini, the sanction is not correct", the Italian added. Madrid continues to defend the Brazilian fiercely, who has already seen 8 yellow cards in 22 matches across all competitions this season.
In La Liga, he has received 5 yellow cards in 15 matches played, while in the Champions League, he has also accumulated a couple of cards in 5 appearances. The one on January 3 was his second direct red card with Madrid, both at Mestalla. In 2018, he was also sent off with Castilla, but for a double yellow card. Regarding yellow cards, he totals 53 in 287 official matches with 'La Casa Blanca'.
