FC Barcelona crushed Valencia (7-1) on a magical night for Fermín López. The midfielder was unleashed in the center of the field, contributing to 4 of the 7 goals for the Catalans
Fermín López led FC Barcelona's crushing victory over Valencia (7-1). The 21-year-old midfielder made the most of the rotations implemented by Hansi Flick, scoring two goals before halftime that paved the way for the Blaugrana rout. Barça went into halftime leading 5-0, with the player from Huelva involved in three of the five goals.
The '16' was the architect of the 3-0 score in the 14th minute, with a brilliant pass into space that Raphinha finished with mastery. Ten minutes later, the midfielder scored a stunning goal, this time thanks to an excellent long pass from Pau Cubarsí that allowed him to shoot against Mamardashvili. In stoppage time, López scored the fifth, picking up a rebound off the post after a cross shot from Rafa. And in the second half, the player from El Campillo rounded off his great day with another filtered pass in the 66th minute, which Robert Lewandowski converted into the sixth Catalan goal with an unstoppable cross shot.

Fermín, happy to regain his best version since the summer
After the match, the 21-year-old player spoke with 'DAZN' about the victory and his great performance on the day. The midfielder had not been able to regain the brilliant level he reached last summer with Spain at the Olympic Games due to various physical issues. "I needed these goals, I was coming from a difficult time. I started the year with many injuries... Happy for the victory and personally to keep gaining confidence and help the team," began the '16'.
In that sense, he valued the importance of adding three key points to continue in the fight for LaLiga, as there is still a long way to go and the team does not intend to, by any means, take their foot off the gas. "I think the coach conveys that to us, we are all important. Whoever comes out, we maintain the level. That’s what it means to be a team. We are going to fight for the League," emphasized the player from El Campillo.
For Fermín, it was his 21st match of the season (835 minutes), the fifth as a starter in LaLiga. The Spanish international, however, had only been able to score against Red Star in the Champions League (2-5). In total, the midfielder completed 57 of 65 passes (88%), with 10 balls recovered, 3 chances created, and 4 successful dribbles out of 6 attempts, as well as winning 8 duels. The 'che' team could never stop the Catalan player in the 90 minutes.
