Lamine Yamal is now the fourth most valuable player in the world, according to CIES

Lamine Yamal is, according to the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), the fourth most valuable footballer in the world. The FC Barcelona winger is valued at €180.3 million, a value similar to that assigned by the specialized website Transfermarkt in its latest update (€180 M). For CIES, the most expensive player currently is Jude Bellingham, valued at €251.4 'million'.

The English midfielder surpasses Erling Haaland, who is second in the Top-10 with €221.5M.  Ahead of Lamine, who swept all individual awards for players under 21 in 2024, is Vinicius Jr., valued by CIES at €205.7M. The next on the list, behind the player from Mataró, is Kylian Mbappé, who is valued at around €175.2 'million'. For Transfermarkt, however, Haaland and 'Vini' are currently the most expensive, both valued at €200 M, while Bellingham and Yamal remain at €180 M, with €10 'million' more than Mbappé.

The CIES Top-10 is completed by Bukayo Saka (€157.3M); Florian Wirtz (€151.2M); Cole Palmer (€150M); Phil Foden (€44.6M) and Rodrygo Goes (€141.3M). Regarding Transfermarkt, the only notable difference is the absence of Jamal Musiala, who is valued at around €140M. Rodrygo, on the other hand, does not make it into the Top-10 of the specialized website. Interestingly, the current Ballon d'Or winner, Rodrigo Hernández (Manchester City/Spain), is not among the ten most valuable players in the world. Transfermarkt keeps him in 12th place, with €130 'million'.
