The former FC Barcelona player, Sergio 'Kun' Agüero, took advantage of the previous match against Real Madrid to 'surrender' to Lamine Yamal and, in turn, make it clear who he would choose in a possible versus between him and Vinicius

Calendar of FC Barcelona

If there is a name that perhaps evokes some nostalgia among the FC Barcelona fans, it's Sergio 'Kun' Agüero. Why? Because the Argentine forward arrived in 2021 as a very promising addition to reinforce the Blaugrana's front line. However, due to a regrettable health setback (ventricular arrhythmia), the '9' could not succeed as a Cule, even having to retire from professional football, undeniably leaving that feeling of: what would have happened if he had been able to display his talent as a player for Barça more freely?

At this point, although there have been discussions about a kind of conflict because Barcelona hasn't paid around 3 million euros to the 'Kun' Agüero, he has demonstrated no resentment towards the Barcelona entity and continues to maintain a certain closeness to the team's current affairs. In fact, on this occasion and on the eve of the Clásico, the forward granted an interview to 'Mundo Deportivo', where beyond delving deeply into the Catalan team, he had the opportunity to dedicate some words regarding Lamine Yamal, the new and exciting star of the Catalan club and global football.

The 'Kun' Agüero admires the talent of Lamine Yamal

'Kun' Agüero, in relation to Lamine Yamal, began by highlighting how the young Blaugrana star has had such a stellar breakthrough in the top tier of world football, also mentioning his special admiration for the talent of the Spanish-Moroccan. "It's very surprising, being so young, he does things that make it seem like he's 26 or 28 years old. For all of us who love football, we must enjoy it because very few of that kind come out. Obviously, he's at Barça, so much better," noted the former Manchester City player.

"We have to see how he continues in a few years because everything depends on each player's mindset and how far they can go, but he's showing that he has a talent that very few possess. Fewer and fewer."

In that sense, Agüero also highlighted the attributes that, in his opinion, make Lamine Yamal a special and extremely complete player. "Everyone has their talent, of going forward, of getting rid of two or three players, but he has things that, at his age, others wouldn't do. He has a different game vision compared to a 17, 18, or 20-year-old. When I was young, I had my talent, although you have to keep working on it. But there are other things that are natural, in terms of game vision, that come naturally, and he has them. He makes passes, opens up the game, plays as a team, and defends," acknowledged the 'Kun'.

"In the Spain-Denmark game, I saw him in the penalty area defending. With his talent, the norm is to stay up front waiting, but you can tell that others don't have that."

Now, who does the 'Kun' prefer, Lamine Yamal or Vinicius Jr.?

Furthermore, to conclude the discussion about Lamine Yamal, when asked if he preferred him over the Real Madrid forward, Vinicius Jr., Agüero has made his preference for the '19' from Barça clear and provided the reason behind it. "In terms of playing style, speaking of talent, Lamine has many more qualities than Vinicius, although the latter has more experience and is a player with titles won with Madrid. Vinicius is in the 'top 3' in the world, but based on age and talent, I prefer Lamine more," concluded the Buenos Aires native.

Agüero also shared his perspective on what might happen in the Clásico

On the other hand, Agüero has expressed his expectations for what he anticipates in the Clásico on this Saturday, October 26, refraining from speculating too much about which team could prevail in this grand duel. "It will be a nice match. I won't bet, but Barça is in good shape. The field always influences and it will be tough, but they have more chances to win than Madrid, even though Real doesn't need even 20% of the ball possession and scores. Why is that? It's not known, but historically in the last 10 minutes, they have things that others don't," he concluded.
