Neymar Jr.'s 'calvary' with injuries continues. The native of Mogi das Cruzes, who had recently recovered from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus in his left leg, which kept him out of action for over a year, now faces a new physical setback that, far from minor, promises to keep him sidelined for several weeks.

Neymar Jr., in his second match since his return, during the Asian Champions clash on November 4 against Esteghlal, suffered a physical setback in the 87th minute of the match. The '10' of the 'Seleção' had entered in the 58th minute for Abdullah Al-Hamdan and after almost 30 minutes of action on the Kingdom Arena pitch, he ended up clutching the back of his right leg in obvious discomfort. Although the initial prognosis was encouraging, as the forward was able to walk off the field on his own.

Even Neymar Jr. took to his social media to reassure about the seriousness of his injury, stating: "I felt like it was a cramp, just very strong. I will do exams and hope it is nothing more. It is normal that after a year this happens, the doctors already warned me, that's why I have to be careful and play more minutes," he concluded.

Now, Neymar Jr.'s injury has become clearer. Al-Hilal, the club that owns his contract until June 30, 2025, has used its various social media platforms to release a medical statement confirming that the player suffered a "tear in the right hamstring". Additionally, according to the statement, fortunately, he will not need surgery, but will undergo "treatment and rehabilitation."

At the same time, the prognosis for his recovery time estimates that Neymar Jr. will be out of action for between four and six weeks. With this information, it is not expected that he will return to Al-Hilal's dynamics until mid-December. Therefore, he will not be seen again in the jersey of the Riyadh team for the remainder of the year.

The Al-Hilal's last match for 2024 is scheduled to take place on December 7 against Al-Raed in the Saudi Pro League. It is worth noting that Neymar Jr. was not included in the active squad due to the surplus of foreign players in the team managed by Jorge Jesus.
