The great German coach Jürgen Klopp wasted no time in announcing his return to the world of football. It is worth remembering that the German coach announced on May 26 his desire to step away from the sidelines after 23 uninterrupted years of professional activity, despite still having one more season left on his contract with Liverpool.

Since then, a significant wave of rumors began to circulate regarding whether 'The Normal One's' retirement would be definitive or if it was just for a sabbatical period. It is important to recall that, as he himself stated when he made the announcement of his farewell, he felt he was "running out of energy."

Jürgen Klopp will return to the world of football with Red Bull

However, it has been announced this Wednesday that Jürgen Klopp will return to professional activity starting January 1, 2025. However, this new role that 'Kloppo' will undertake will not be related to coaching any team but will be more associated with tasks in the offices.

The German coach has been appointed as the new director of football at Red Bull. It is important to note that Jürgen Klopp will not be involved in the day-to-day operations of the clubs owned by this Austrian company (RB Leipzig, RB Salzburg, New York RB, RB Bragantino, and FC Liefering), but will provide his strategic vision to the sports directors, scouts, and coaches of all these clubs.

"After nearly 25 years on the sidelines, I couldn't be more excited to get involved in a project like this. The role may have changed, but not my passion for football and the people who make the game what it is," commented Jürgen Klopp.

'The Normal One' also spoke about his expectations for his new adventure as the new director of football at Red Bull. "By joining Red Bull globally, I want to develop, enhance, and support the incredible footballing talent we have at our disposal. There are many ways we can do this by using Red Bull's elite knowledge and experience to learn from other sports and industries. Together we can discover what is possible. I see my role primarily as a mentor to the coaches and management of the Red Bull clubs, but ultimately, I am part of an organization that is unique, innovative, and forward-thinking. As I said, this could not excite me more," concludes the German.

'The Normal One' does not rule out becoming a national team coach in the future

As an interesting point, according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg of 'Sky Sports Germany,' Jürgen Klopp has reportedly signed a long-term contract with Red Bull, under the condition that if the German national team were to require him as a coach, he could leave his position without any issue. This makes it clear that at least Klopp does not seem to have completely closed the door to returning as a coach, and in this case, he may have certain expectations of becoming a national team coach, an idea that has been raised on more than one occasion and which may arise in the future.
